Οpera and opera theater were born at the conclusion of the 16th century in Florence, by a gathering of researchers who looked for ways of displaying shows relative to the ones of the ancient Greek tragedy. Since the birth of the melodic class called musical drama in Italy, Europe, the term opera theater became dominant in European culture. A few of the foremost critical ones are found in Europe. Rome has a beautiful opera house and has many classical dance concerts and opera performances there. The open-air opera season starts in June, but sometimes there are other performances throughout the year. The Puccini Festival in Tuscany takes place in the Torre del Lago Puccini, once the home of opera composer Giacomo Puccini, in July and August. The new outdoor arena is in a beautiful location overlooking the lake.Finally, the Sferisterio Opera Festival is held outdoors in the Macerata countryside, in the central Marche region of Italy. The performances take place in July and August.
